Abstract of the Disclosure A manually operated press comprising a base, a movable platen opposed to the base and a frame attached to the base and carrying a movable platen includes a novel platen supporting and actuating structure which provides for adjustment of the pressure to be exerted by the press upon an object placed between the base and the platen and for adjustment to compensate for the thickness of the object to be placed between the platen and the base.
