A novel, storage-stable, free-flowing, solid product consisting essentially of an alkyl benzene sulphonic acid having 1 to 4 aliphatic carbon atoms and from 7 to 11 % water based on the weight of the product, said alkyl benzene sulphonic acid comprising at least 90 % by weight of a single isomer based on the total weight of organic material in the product, is prepared by drying a storage-unstable, solid alkyl benzene sulphonic acid having more than 11 % by weight water, said drying being effected at sub atmospheric pressure and at a temperature below the softening point of the product.

L'invention concerne un nouveau produit solide, stable au stockage, à haute fluidité comprenant essentiellement un acide alkylbenzène sulfonique présentant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone aliphatique et de 7 à 11 % d'eau en fonction du poids du produit, ledit acide alkylbenzène sulfonique comprenant au moins 90 % en poids d'un isomère unique en fonction du poids total de matériau organique dans le produit. Ledit nouveau produit est préparé par séchage d'un acide alkylbenzène sulfonique instable au stockage, présentant plus de 11 % en poids d'eau, ledit séchage étant réalisé à une pression inférieure à la pression atmosphérique et à une température en deçà du point de ramollissement du produit.
