A method of making an optics package is described in which an exposed length of optical fibre (10) is deliberately subject to a predetermined bend. The relationship between the exposed length of the optical fibre and a distance between a location at which it is supported (P2) and a fixing point (P1) on an optical device (4) is determined taking into account the induced strain in the optical fibre. An optics package designed according to the method is also set forward.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un boîtier optique selon lequel on forme une courbure prédéterminée d'une longueur exposée d'une fibre optique (10). On détermine le rapport entre la longueur exposée de la fibre optique et la distance séparant l'emplacement auquel elle est fixée (P2) d'un point de fixation (P1) d'un dispositif optique (4) en tenant compte de la contrainte induite dans la fibre optique. L'invention concerne aussi un boîtier optique conçu selon le procédé de l'invention.
