ABSTRACT Disclosed is a method for the manufacture of a concentrated carbon dioxide stream useful for enhanced recovery of oil. The method for manufacture of a carbon dioxide stream comprises passing a feed comprising carbon- aceous material, an oxygen-enriched gas, and recycle gas comprising carbon dioxide into a combustion zone at oxida- tion conditions such that a substantially all-carbonaceous material is combusted to form carbon dioxide. A portion of the carbon dioxide is recycled to the combustion zone to control combustion zone temperature. SHB:el 81289ART0027
