ABSTRACT A method of perforating a sheet material com- prising removably supporting the sheet material on a support surface of a support body, exposing the sheet material to a laser beam to form perforations in the sheet material and removing the resultant perforated sheet material from the support body. The support surface has a low reflectivity to the laser beam such that the geometry of the perforations is not signifi- cantly affected by reflected radiation.
