A grease fitting is made by cold forming a blank (48) into a member having a thread blank (66) at one end, a hexagonal center portion (70), and a grease- fitting-mating nipple outline (68) at the other end. Threads (104) are rolled onto the thread blank (66), and the grease-fitting-mating nipple outline (68) is formed into a grease-gun-mating nipple (96), which is then rolled to smooth and burnish its surface. The member is then successively drilled to make a hole (102) of three different diameters to form a one-way valve ball seat and two ball spring clearance diameters. A ball (110) and spring (112) are inserted into the hole (102), and then an end of the member is formed over an end of the spring (112) to capture the spring in place.
La présente invention concerne un graisseur réalisé par formage à froid d'une ébauche qui se transforme ainsi en un élément présentant à une extrémité, une préforme de filetage (66), à mi-longueur, une structure hexagonale (70), et à l'autre extrémité, un contour de téton (68) pour pompe de graissage. On réalise ensuite par roulage les filetages (104) sur la préforme de filetage (66), puis on forme le contour de téton (68) pour pompe de graissage qui devient ainsi un téton (96) s'adaptant à la pompe de graissage. On soumet ensuite le téton à un roulage de polissage et brunissage de la surface. On perce enfin l'élément selon trois diamètres différents: un diamètre pour former le siège de bille de soupape, et deux diamètres pour les alésages accueillant le ressort de bille de soupape. Après insertion de la bille (110) et du ressort (112), une extrémité de l'élément est rabattue sur une extrémité du ressort (112) de façon à immobiliser le ressort.
