ABSTRACT A manufactured wall element, consisting of parallel vertical wall studs spaced apart from each other, resting on lower cross members, the rectangular space between the studs and lower cross members being filled by a plate preferably consisting of expanded polystyrene. The plate is firmly fastened to the parallel vertical wall studs and lower cross members, and upper cross members, if any, by H-shaped fastening blades in such a way that the legs of the H-shaped fasteners are firmly embedded in groves cut into the parallel vertical wall studs and lower cross members; while the blades, being the tapered arms of the H, are holding the polystyrene plate by resting in the groves cut along the edge of the plate. The groves are narrow enough to provide a tight friction grip. The plate, filling the space between the parallel vertical wall studs and cross members is thus firmly locked in place by the surrounding parallel vertical wall studs and cross members (or a metal strip in lieu of an upper cross member), rendering the wall impermeable to air and moisture. -4-
