A manufacturing process and an apparatus to carry out the process are disclosed which eliminate or at least significantly reduce the occurrence of damaging localized short circuits in the production of electrochemical generators. The process and apparatus include cauterization by oxidation of the anode edges of multiple electrochemical cell laminates thereby rendering the anode edges electrically insulated from adjacent cathodes and/or current collectors.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication et un appareil permettant de mettre en application ledit procédé, lesquels éliment ou, tout au moins, réduisent de façon significative le risque de courts-circuits localisés dommageables pendant la production de générateurs électrochimiques. Le procédé et l'appareil selon l'invention permettent de cautériser par oxydation les bords anodiques de plusieurs laminés de cellules électrochimiques, ce qui permet d'isoler électriquement ces bords anodiques des cathodes et/ou des collecteurs de courant adjacents.
