ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A marine contra-rotating propeller apparatus for propelling a ship by contra-rotating propellers is characterized by the provision of an inner shaft having one end directly coupled to an output shaft of a main diesel engine and the other end to which a stern-side propeller is mounted and an outer shaft having one end coupled to the inner shaft through a reversing transmission mechanism and an elastic coupling and the other end to which a bow-side propeller is mounted.
