There is provided a marine exhaust silencer having an axial inlet opening and an axial outlet opening spaced axially from the inlet opening comprising a cylindrical shell, a number of annular sections provided with perforations and louver-like openings securely positioned within the shell and noise dampening members, wherein the equi-distancely spaced apart annular sections create tubular/annular sub-chambers.
