A sternpost or strut bearing assemblage is disclosed having a flat mounting plate integrally formed with a pair of separated collars, which collars have their centers longitudinally aligned with each other to receive a vessel's drive shaft. A pair of opposed split bearing retainer covers is affixed to the mounting plate. Each cover is essentially omega shaped, and on the semi cylindrical inner surface thereof, the cover includes a plurality of longitudinally located retaining grooves having seated therein a mating series of ribs located on the outer surface of a hard semi cylindrical bearing shell which shell has a soft inner water lubrication lining. A split bearing is divided lengthwise at a midpoint parting line into two bearing halves, and each bearing half rides in an associated bearing retainer cover that is fastened by bolts in a removable fashion to the mounting plate of the bearing assemblage proper.
Assemblage d'étraves ou de paliers de jambe comportant une plaque de montage plate formée d'un seul tenant avec une paire de colliers séparés, dont les centres sont longitudinalement alignés l'un avec l'autre pour recevoir un arbre d'entraînement du navire. Une paire de coquilles de retenue de palier fendues opposées sont fixées à la plaque de montage. Chaque coquille est essentiellement en forme d'oméga et, sur sa surface interne semi-cylindrique, la coquille comprend une pluralité de rainures de retenue sur lesquelles prennent appui longitudinalement une série de nervures d'accouplement situées sur la surface externe d'une coquille de palier semi-cylindrique, laquelle comporte une douce garniture interne de lubrification à eau. Un palier fendu est divisé dans le sens de la longueur au niveau d'un point médian en deux moitiés de palier, et chaque moitié de palier se déplace dans une coquille de retenue de palier connexe qui est fixée par des boulons de façon amovible à la plaque de montage de l'assemblage de paliers proprement dite.
