ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A marine structure is constructed by placing on seabed a topless r bottomless, hollow box-like caisson having a pair of longitudinal side walls each consisting of interconnected arch shells, a pair of straight lateral side walls connecting the longitudinal side walls and a footing extending along and outwardly from the bottom edge of each longitudinal side wall, and introducing concrete into the cavity of the caisson in staking rela- tion to the seabed, and further introducing sand and earth into the caisson cavity above the concrete layer.
