In a method of markdown management, price elasticity (22) of sales of an item of commerce is estimated (FIG. 1). Based on the price elasticity, a maximum gross margin (26) for the item is determined. The maximum possible gross margin (30) is then used in connection with evaluating markdown scenarios for the item.

L'invention concerne un procédé de gestion de démarquage, dans lequel est estimée l'élasticité des prix (22) des ventes d'un article (voir figure). En fonction de l'élasticité des prix, une marge brute maximum (26) est déterminée pour l'article. Cette marge brute maximum possible (30) est ensuite utilisée conjointement avec l'évaluation de scénarios de démarquage pour l'article.
