The present invention relates to a method of determining an individual's predisposition to breast cancer, development of breast cancer, protection against breast cancer and/or responsiveness to therapy for breast cancer. The method comprises the step of determining the androgen receptor genotype at the CAG repeat locus of an individual, or at a locus in linkage disequilibrium with the CAG repeat locus, thereby determining an individual's predisposition to breast cancer, development of breast cancer, protection against breast cancer and/or responsiveness to therapy for breast cancer.
L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination de la prédisposition d'un individu au cancer du sein, du développement du cancer du sein, de la protection contre le cancer du sein et/ou de la réactivité à un traitement du cancer du sein. Ledit procédé consiste à déterminer le génotype du récepteur des hormones androgènes au niveau du site de répétition CAG d'un individu, ou au niveau d'un site de déséquilibre de liaison avec le site de répétition CAG, et à déterminer ainsi la prédisposition d'un individu au cancer du sein, le développement du cancer du sein, la protection contre le cancer du sein et/ou la réactivité au traitement du cancer du sein.
