The invention relates to a marking device for identifying and marking an animal that is connected by a non-reversible engagement: a male portion (20) including a rod extending from a holder (10); and a female portion (5) including a cavity for interaction with the rod. According to the invention, the rod is surrounded at least partially with a foam (21) impregnated with a specific substance so that the foam (21) is compressed upon the engagement of said male and female portions.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de marquage pour l'identification et le marquage d'un animal, associant par emboîtement irréversible : - une partie mâle (20) comprenant une tige s'étendant à partir d'un support (10), et - une partie femelle (5) comprenant une cavité destinée à coopérer avec ladite tige. Selon l'invention, la tige est entourée au moins en partie d'une mousse (21) imprégnée d'une substance spécifique, de façon que la mousse (21) soit comprimée lors de l'emboîtement desdites parties mâle et femelle.
