A masking material comprises an elon-gate strip (8) at least partially coated with a layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive (4), the strip having a curved surface which is con-vex when the strip is viewed in cross section and is positioned such that when the strip is adhered to a substrate (12) by the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive a portion of the curved surface overhangs the substrate. The masking material comprises a removable edge portion (10) comprising said portion of the curved surface detachably secured to a re-mainder of the strip and which may be re-moved to expose a second curved surface on the remainder of the strip which is convex when viewed in cross section and which is positioned to overhang the substrate. The removable portion and remainder of the strip have different dimensions. Methods for making such masking material are also described.
Ce matériau de masquage comporte une bande allongée (8) au moins en partie revêtue d'une couche d'adhésif auto-collant (4). Cette bande qui a une surface cintrée convexe vue en coupe transversale, est positionnée de manière que, lorsqu'elle adhère à un substrat (12) au moyen de l'adhésif auto-collant, une partie de la surface cintrée déborde du substrat. Ce matériau de masquage comprend une partie de bordure amovible (10) comprenant la partie à surface cintrée fixée amovible au reste de la bande et pouvant être retirée afin de mettre à nu une seconde surface cintrée sur le reste de la bande qui est convexe vue en coupe transversale et qui est positionnée de manière à déborder du substrat. La partie amovible et le reste de la bande sont de dimensions différentes. L'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication de ce matériau de masquage.
