ABSTRACT A masonry anchor comprises a bolt (2) having a cylindrical thread (2b) leading to a tapered thread (2a). An internally-threaded sleeve (4) comprising segments separated by axial slots is mounted on the end of the bolt and is expanded radially by movement of the tapered thread (2a) through the sleeve (4) to set the anchor into a hole in masonry. In the set condition of the sleeve, the cylindrical thread (2b) of the bolt is within the sleeve and the bolt can be further tightened to draw a component into tight engagement with the masonry surface. The internal thread of the sleeve is a cylindrical thread having substantial compatibility with the cylindrical thread (2b) of the bolt.
