Apparatus for detecting working fluid state in a heat transfer system (10) of the type having an evaporator (14) and an expansion valve (22) for controlling mass flow of the working fluid (12) to the evaporator (14), comprises a first sensor (150) disposed in the working fluid (12) on the outlet side of the evaporator (14); the first sensor (150) producing a first signal related to the working fluid (12) state; a second sensor (250) disposed in the working fluid (12) on the inlet side of the evaporator (14); the second sensor (250) producing a second signal related to a pressure dependent characteristic of the working fluid (12); and a control circuit (40) for receiving the first and second signals and determining the working fluid (12) state based on a ratio of the first and second signals.

L'invention concerne un appareil destiné à détecter l'état d'un fluide de travail dans un système (10) de transfert de chaleur de type à évaporateur (14) et à soupape de détente (22), cette dernière étant destinée à réguler le débit massique du fluide (12) de travail coulant vers l'évaporateur (14). Ledit appareil comprend les éléments suivants: un premier capteur (150), disposé dans le fluide (12) de travail sur le côté sortie de l'évaporateur (14), le premier capteur (150) produisant un premier signal relatif à l'état du fluide (12) de travail; un second capteur (250), disposé dans le fluide (12) de travail sur le côté entrée de l'évaporateur (14), le second capteur (250) produisant un second signal relatif à une caractéristique du fluide (12) de travail dépendant de la pression; et un circuit de commande (40) destiné à recevoir le premier signal et le second signal et à déterminer l'état du fluide (12) de travail en fonction d'un rapport entre le premier signal et le second signal.
