The present invention is directed to computer automated methods and systems for identifying and characterizing biomolecules in a biological sample. Mass spectrometry measurements are obtained on biomolecules in a sample. These measurements are analyzed to determine the abundance of the biomolecules in the sample, and the abundance measurements are couple with one or more distinguishing characteristics of biomolecules they are associated with, thereby permitting computer-mediated comparison of abundances of biomolecules from multiple biological samples.

La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés automatisés informatiques permettant d'identifier et de caractériser des biomolécules dans un échantillon biologique. On obtient des mesures de spectrométrie de masse sur des biomolécules dans un échantillon. On analyse ces mesures pour déterminer l'abondance des biomolécules dans l'échantillon, et on couple ces mesures d'abondance à au moins une caractéristique de distinction des biomolécules auxquelles elles sont associées, ce qui permet une comparaison informatique des abondances des biomolécules provenant de plusieurs échantillons biologiques.
