ABSTRACT In a matching pad for connecting coaxial transmission lines having respective first and second central conductors and an outer conductor, the first central conductor has a cavity in an end thereof adjacent the second central conductor. The first and second central conductors are electrically connected by a first resistor which is at least partially contained within said cavity, and the first central conductor is electrically connected to the outer conductor by a shunt resistor situated substantially in the central region of the length of the series conductor.
