Known Si3N4 and SiAlON cutting materials become, at the beginning, rounded very quickly on the cutting edge during usual long continuous cuts in gray cast iron (GG) which is described as initial wear. The invention thus provides that the raw material mixture of the material comprised of: component A, an alpha/beta SiAlON, and; component B, a hard material, has a composition consisting of 70 to 97 % by volume of component A and 3 to 30 % by volume of component B.
Lors de la réalisation de coupes usuelles continues et longues dans de la fonte grise, les matériaux de coupe connus à base de Si¿3?N¿4? et de SiAlON s'arrondissent au début très rapidement au niveau de l'arête de coupe, ce phénomène étant appelé usure initiale. Selon l'invention, le mélange de matières de base du matériau est constitué d'un composant A, un alpha/beta-SiAlON, et d'un composant B, un matériau dur, la composition du mélange étant la suivante : 70 à 97 % en volume de composant A et 3 à 30 % en volume de composant B.
