A material crushing device has a housing in which are housed cutting elements that move towards each other. The cutting elements consist of comb-like rows of spaced blades that mesh with each other enclosing an upwardly open angle. The blades carry out at the same time a shearing movement and a swivelling movement around an axis by means of a crank mechanism.
