Material for antibaliistic protective clothing comprising in a single- or multi-layer package or laminate at least one layer of a flat structure containing an organic dilat- ancy agent. This flat structure is particularly suited for the trauma package in an antiballistic package. The flat structure with a dilatancy agent results in a significant improvement in the antiballistic effect and in particular a reduction in the trauma effect. The material of the inven- tion finds special application for bullet- and splinter- proof vests and correspondingly for helmets. Moreover, the material of the invention can be used in clothing protect- ing against impact.
