Granulated products are provided and include carbonaceous particles and a carbonized agent or binder. The agent or binder is preferably a synthetic resin, pitch component, or mixture thereof Packing materials for packing colunms used in chromatographic separations are also provided as are methods of chromatographic separation using the materials. In addition, methods are provided to provide a variety of different types of carbonaceous products. A variety of chemical groups can be, prior to heat-treatment and/or thereafter, attached to the granules to form modified granules.
L'invention concerne des produits granulés, comprenant des particules carbonées et un agent ou un liant carboné. L'agent ou le liant est de préférence une résine synthétique, du brai, ou un mélange de ces derniers. L'invention se rapporte également à des matériaux de remplissage pour colonnes de remplissage, lesquelles sont utilisées dans les séparations chromatographiques, ainsi qu'à des procédés de séparation chromatographique faisant appel à ces matériaux. De plus, l'invention a trait à des procédés permettant de produire plusieurs types différents de produits carbonés. Divers groupes chimiques peuvent être, avant et/ou après le traitement thermique, fixés aux granules pour former des granules modifiées.
