The subject of the invention is a covering filtering material for protecting eyes which are healthy, pseudo-aphakic (operated for cataracts) and/or having retinal degeneratiion under shortwave lengths, which results from the application of a filter with yellow pigmentation on any covering, coating or screening material with the purpose of protecting the eyes from the shortwave lengths of visible spectrum from 500 to 380nm which cause retinal degeneration. By way of example, this element may be applied in materials intended for manufacturing awnings, parasols or insulating materials or protection screens of any type. This invention avoids the difficulties and risks of the existing techniques for providing this protection for healthy and cataract-operated eyes and for improving protection for eyes undergoing neurodegenerative processes, achieving this with the simple application of a filter to common covering, coating or screening materials, thereby furnishing additional protection against neurodegenerative agents found in light (shortwave lengths).
El objeto de Ia invención es un material de cobertura filtrante para Ia protección de los ojos sanos, pseudo-afáquicos (operados de cataratas) y/o con degeneración retiniana frente a las longitudes de onda corta, que resulta de Ia aplicación de un filtro con pigmentación amarilla sobre cualquier material de cobertura, revestimiento o pantalla con el fin de proteger los ojos de las longitudes de onda corta del espectro visible desde 500 a 380nm que producen degeneración retiniana. Se indican, a título de ejemplo, Ia aplicación de este elemento en los materiales destinados a Ia fabricación de toldos, quitasoles o materiales aislantes o pantallas de protección de cualquier tipo. Esta invención elude las dificultades y riesgos de las técnicas existentes para dotar de esta protección a los ojos sanos y operados de cataratas y mejorar Ia de aquellos en procesos neurodegenerativos, lográndolo con Ia simple aplicación de un filtro a materiales comunes de cobertura, revestimiento o pantalla, incorporando una protección adicional frente a agentes neurodegenerativos incluidos en Ia luz (longitudes de onda corta).
