It is intended to provide an effective cariostatic material which inhibits dental plaque formation as well as onset of dental caries. A material for inhibiting enamel decalcification containing, as the active ingredient, a proanthocyanidin-like polyphenol originating in hop bract or immature apple, which effectively inhibits not only dental plaque formation but also the dental caries process including proliferation of bacteria, formation of acids by the bacteria and enamel decalcification. Also, foods, drinks and oral care goods with the use of the above substance as an enamel decalcification inhibitor are provided.
L'invention concerne une substance cariostatique efficace inhibant la formation de la plaque dentaire ainsi que l'apparition de caries dentaires. Cette invention se rapporte en particulier à une substance pour inhiber la décalcification de l'émail contenant, comme principe actif, un polyphénol de type proanthocyanidine issu de bractée de houblon ou de pomme immature, laquelle substance inhibe efficacement la formation de la plaque dentaire tout comme le processus de formation de caries dentaires qui comprend la prolifération de bactéries, la formation d'acides par ces bactéries et la décalcification de l'émail. Ladite invention concerne également des aliments, des boissons et des produits d'hygiène bucco-dentaire utilisant la substance susmentionnée en tant qu'inhibiteur de décalcification de l'émail
