Disclosed is a polymeric composition composed essentially of: (A) at least one polymer, and (B) from 0.5 to 50% by weight, based on the total of (A) and (B), of at least one thermoset prepared through reaction, in a matrix of the polymer (A), of: (1) at least one starting component having NH2 groups, and (2) at least one starting component having NCO groups, where the starting components (B)(1) and (B)(2) each have a functionality of at least 2, and at least one of the starting components (B) (1) and (B) (2) having a functionality of more than 2 is present in an amount of from 0.5 to 100% by weight. The polymeric composition is useful, for example, as a component of a coating composition or an adhesive.
