The invention provides methods of inducing immune tolerance to target antigens in individuals seropositive for certain infectious agents by administration of epitopes derived from those infectious agents. Epitopes derived from viruses which carry homologues of interleukin 10 (IL-10) in their genome, such as Epstein Barr virus and cytomegalovirus, are particularly suitable for these purposes. Particularly preferred is the use of the EBV LMP1 protein and epitopes thereof.
La présente invention a trait à des procédés d'induction de tolérance immunitaire à des antigènes cibles chez des individus séropositifs pour certains agents infectieux par l'administration d'épitopes dérivés desdits agents infectieux. Les épitopes dérivés des virus portant des homologues de l'interleukine 10 (IL-10) dans leur génome, tels que le virus d'Epstein-Barr et le cytomégalovirus, sont particulièrement appropriés à cet effet. L'utilisation de la protéine membranaire latente 1 (LMP1) du virus d'Epstein-Barr (EVB) et de ses épitopes est particulière préférée.
