The disclosed invention is based on the discovery that a cell-based therapy can be used to treat, ameliorate, manage and/or reduce the progression of clinical sequelae associated with vascular interventions or cardiovascular diseases, particularly occlusive thrombosis, restenosis, intimal hyperplasia, inflammation and vasodilation. The invention further benefits from the additional discovery that a heretofore undescribed implantable flowable composition is capable of sustaining a confluent population of sufficiently viable cells which can be effectively administered via a minimally-invasive surgical procedure without diminishing the clinical effectiveness or the viability of the cells. The disclosed invention can be used to treat vasculature as well as non-vascular tubular structures such as a fallopian tube.
L'invention s'appuie sur la constatation selon laquelle une thérapie cellulaire peut être appliquée pour traiter, améliorer, gérer et/ou réduire la progression de séquelles cliniques associées à des interventions vasculaires ou à des troubles cardio-vasculaires, en particulier la thrombose occlusive, la resténose, l'hyperplasie intime, l'inflammation et la vasodilatation. L'invention bénéficie également de la découverte complémentaire selon laquelle une composition fluide implantable non décrite jusqu'ici peut comprendre une population de cellules confluentes suffisamment viables, pouvant être administrée avec efficacité par chirurgie minimalement invasive sans diminuer l'efficacité clinique ou la viabilité des cellules. La présente invention peut servir à traiter des vaisseaux et des structures tubulaires non vasculaires telles que la trompe de Fallope.
