A steam generating boiler having a matrix means (8) for reducing combustion volume. Matrix means (8) is placed in the combustion furnace (5) of a steam generating boiler, preferably downstream of fuel and oxidant stream (11, 12). Matrix means produces a shorter combustion envelope than that of a conventional boiler, allowing for reduced volume steam generating boilers.

L'invention porte sur une chaudière à vapeur pourvue d'une matrice (8) permettant de réduire le volume de combustion. La matrice (8) est placée dans le four à combustion (5) de la chaudière à vapeur, de préférence en aval du courant de combustible et de l'agent d'oxydation (11, 12). La matrice génère une enveloppe de combustion plus courte que celle d'une chaudière traditionnelle, ce qui permet d'obtenir des chaudières à vapeur à volume réduit.
