The relative launch power of signals at an add/drop node transponder is controlled to maximise available power. Known values of signal bandwidth and likely noise in the signal path (8), for example, derived from the system manager (24,9), are used to control (22) the launch power (23) into the optical amplifier (11), in order to optimise the launch power accordingly.

La présente invention consiste en une commande de la puissance d'injection relative des signaux au niveau d'un transpondeur de noeud à injection/prélèvement, de façon à maximiser la puissance disponible. On prend des valeurs connues de largeur de bande du signal et de bruit possible dans le chemin du signal (8), telles que celles que l'on peut dériver du gestionnaire système (24, 9), et on s'en sert pour réguler (22) la puissance d'injection (23) dans l'amplificateur optique (11), de façon à optimiser la puissance d'injection en conséquence.
