The invention provides method and kits for detecting a metallic cation in a sample of a body fluid. The preferred method and kits include the use of at least two different types of antibodies having different specificities. In the preferred method, the sample of body fluid can be contacted with an effective amount of a capture antibody specific for a naturally occurring polypeptide that can bind the metallic cation to form a first antigen-antibody complex. An effective amount of an antibody specific for an epitope on a metallic cation-naturally occurring polypeptide complex or an antibody specific for a metallic cation is added to the first antigen-antibody complex to form a second antigen-antibody complex. The amount of the metallic cation in the sample of body fluid is determined by detecting the amount of the second antigen-antibody complex.
L'invention concerne un procédé et des kits permettant la détection d'un cation métallique dans un échantillon de fluide biologique. Le procédé et les kits préférés impliquent l'utilisation d'au moins deux différents types d'anticorps possédant des spécificités différentes. Selon le procédé préféré, l'échantillon de fluide biologique peut être mis en contact avec une quantité efficace d'un anticorps de capture spécifique d'un polypeptide d'origine naturelle qui peut se fixer au cation métallique recherché afin de former un premier complexe antigène-anticorps. Une quantité efficace d'un anticorps spécifique d'un épitope sur un complexe cation métallique-polypeptide d'origine naturelle ou d'un anticorps spécifique d'un cation métallique est ajoutée au premier complexe antigène-anticorps afin de former un second complexe antigène-anticorps. La quantité du cation métallique dans l'échantillon de fluide biologique est déterminée par la définition de la quantité d'un second complexe antigène-anticorps.
