The present invention relates to a method for determining whether therapy with a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor is potentially beneficial or potentially contraindicated for a subject suffering from a p38-mediated condition comprising measuring in a sample obtained from the subject the presence of at least one chromatin remodelling gene and/or of at least one pro-inflammatory gene, wherein the treatment is potentially beneficial for the subject, if at least one chromatin remodelling gene is underrepresented and/or at least one pro-inflammatory gene is overrepresented in comparison to a reference sample obtained from a subject not suffering from a p38-mediated condition; or wherein the treatment is potentially contraindicated for the subject, if at least one chromatin remodelling gene is overrepresented and/or at least one pro- inflammatory gene is underrepresented in comparison to a reference sample obtained from a subject not suffering from a p38- mediated condition. The present invention also relates to medical uses and methods of treatment applying a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor for treating a p38-mediated condition in a subject, wherein the patient is amenable to the treatment with the p38 MAP kinase inhibitor, if in the subject at least one chromatin remodelling gene is underrepresented and/or at least one pro-inflammatory gene is overrepresented in comparison to a reference sample obtained from a subject not suffering from a p38-mediated condition. Furthermore, a packaged medicament and a kit are provided comprising a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor or means for determining the presence of at least one chromatin remodelling gene and/or at least one pro-inflammatory gene in a sample from a subject suffering from a p38-mediated condition and instructions for use indicating that a subject suffering from a p38-mediated condition is amenable to the treatment with the p38 MAP kinase inhibitor, if it has been determined whether in said subject at least one chromatin remodelling gene is underrepresented and/or at least one pro-inflammatory gene is overrepresented in comparison to a reference sample obtained from a subject not suffering from a p38-mediated condition.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour déterminer si une thérapie avec un inhibiteur de MAP-kinase p38 est potentiellement bénéfique ou potentiellement contre-indiquée pour un sujet souffrant dune affection associée à p38 comprenant la mesure dans un échantillon obtenu du sujet de la présence dau moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine et/ou dau moins un gène pro-inflammatoire, le traitement étant potentiellement bénéfique pour le sujet si au moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine est sous-représenté et/ou au moins un gène pro-inflammatoire est surreprésenté par rapport à un échantillon de référence obtenu dun sujet ne souffrant pas dune affection associée à p38, ou le traitement étant potentiellement contre-indiqué pour le sujet si au moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine est surreprésenté et/ou au moins un gène pro-inflammatoire est sous-représenté par rapport à un échantillon de référence obtenu dun sujet ne souffrant pas dune affection associée à p38. La présente invention concerne en outre des utilisations médicales et des procédés de traitement appliquant un inhibiteur de MAP-kinase p38 pour traiter une affection associée à p38 chez un sujet, le patient étant approprié pour le traitement avec linhibiteur de MAP-kinase p38 si chez le sujet au moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine est sous-représenté et/ou au moins un gène pro-inflammatoire est surreprésenté par rapport à un échantillon de référence obtenu dun sujet ne souffrant pas dune affection associée à p38. La présente invention concerne en outre un médicament conditionné et un kit comprenant un inhibiteur de MAP-kinase p38 ou des moyens pour déterminer la présence dau moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine et/ou dau moins un gène pro-inflammatoire dans un échantillon provenant dun sujet souffrant dune affection associée à p38 et des instructions dutilisation indiquant quun sujet souffrant dune affection associée à p38 est approprié pour traitement avec linhibiteur de MAP-kinase p38 sil a été déterminé que chez ledit sujet, au moins un gène de remodelage de chromatine est sous-représenté et/ou au moins un gène pro-inflammatoire est surreprésenté par rapport à un échantillon de référence obtenu dun sujet ne souffrant pas dune affection associée à p38.
