The invention among other provides means and methods for modulating NOTCH3 expression and/or protein coding domain. In one aspect the invention provides a method for at least reducing an elevated level of NOTCH3 protein in a NOTCH3 expressing cell or the immediate vicinity thereof said method comprising providing said cell with an anti-sense oligonucleotide specific for NOTCH3 m RNA or pre-m RNA thereby decreasing production of said NOTCH3 protein or thereby altering the protein coding region in said NOTCH3 m RNA or pre-m RNA.
L'invention porte entre autres sur des moyens et des procédés de modulation de l'expression de NOTCH3 et/ou d'un domaine codant pour une protéine. Sous un aspect, l'invention porte sur un procédé pour au moins réduire un taux élevé de protéine NOTCH3 dans une cellule exprimant NOTCH3 ou au voisinage immédiat de celle-ci, ledit procédé comprenant la fourniture à ladite cellule d'un oligonucléotide anti-sens spécifique pour l'ARNm ou pré-ARNm de NOTCH3, diminuant ainsi la production de ladite protéine NOTCH3 ou altérant ainsi la région codant pour une protéine dans ledit ARNm ou pré-ARNm de NOTCH3.
