The planar means (20) for a machine for cutting sheet elements consists of a board (22), ported if desired, whose lower surface is provided with working parts (27, 28), whose upper surface is provided at its downstream edge with a centering post (25) and with one or several mounting strips (23). At its upstream edge, one or several mounting strips protrude from the exterior of the board (22). The left edge of the planar means (20) is provided with a grasping means (26). The working parts (27, 28) may be provided on the upper surface; the strips (23) and the centering post (25) are then on the lower surface.
