The new gp120 receptors or binding sites of the invention are found on CD4+ cells, but differ from the CD4 binding receptor which is blocked when reacting CD4+ cell with a monoclonal antibody directed against the gp120 binding site of CD4, they give interactions with gp120, such as those obtained when reacting gp120 with CD4+ cells in the absence of serum and at a gp120 to cell ratio of 0.5 µg/ml for about 106 cells/ml.
Les nouveaux récepteurs ou sites de fixation de gp120 de l'invention se trouvent sur des cellules CD4+, mais diffèrent du récepteur de fixation CD4 qui est bloqué quand on fait réagir des cellules CD4+ avec un anticorps monoclonal dirigé contre le site de fixation CD4 de gp120; ils produisent des interactions avec gp120 comme celles obtenues lorsqu'on fait réagir gp120 avec des cellules CD4+ en l'absence de sérum et selon un rapport gp120 sur cellules de 0,5 µg/ml pour environ 10?6¿ cellules/ml.
