- 1 - Abstract: A feedstuff additive for improving protein synthesis during the fattening of animals is described. To achieve an especially good growth increasing effect when fattening animals, an additive of zinc aspartate is added to the feed at a dose of about 10 to about 100 mg. zinc as zinc aspartate per kg. of feedstuff. Alternatively, copper aspartate may be employed at a dose of about 10 to about 100 mg. copper as copper aspartate per kg. of feedstuff. If both zinc aspartate and copper aspartate are used, the doses are preferably 3-20 mg/kg feed and 25-100 mg/kg feed, respectively, calculated as the metal.
