ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Means is disclosed for fixing the roughened stem of a joit prosthesis to the cavity reamed in a bone. The inventive means comprises a substan- tially homogeneous mixture of a biologically compatible granular material in which the grains have a substantially even particle size distribution and are substantially irregular and/or plastic, i.e. they deform under pressure and thereafter retain the deformed state. The advantage of the invention is in that it allows firm anchoring, both short and long term, of the respective prosthesis stem in the reamed cavity even if there is a substantial difference between the size and shape of the stem and of the reamed cavity in the bone.
