An apparatus (1) for measuring the transmission or attenuation of electromagnetic radiation through an object (6), said apparatus including an electromagnetic radiation emitter (2) and detector (3), characterised in that to perform transmission/attenuation measurements, the apparatus in configurable such that said emitter (2) is positioned immediately adjacent the surface of said object (6) and said detector (3) is positioned on an opposing side of the object (6) such that the detector (3) solely, or at least substantially receives electromagnetic radiation transmitted through the object (6) from the emitter (2).

L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) permettant de mesurer la transmission ou l'affaiblissement du rayonnement électromagnétique à travers un objet (6), qui comprend un émetteur de rayonnement électromagnétique (2) et un détecteur correspondant (3). Pour effectuer les mesures de transmission/d'affaiblissement, on peut donner au dispositif une configuration telle que l'émetteur (2) soit placé en position immédiatement adjacente à la surface de l'objet (6) et que le détecteur (3) se trouve sur un côté opposé à l'objet (6). Ainsi, le détecteur (3) reçoit seulement ou au moins sensiblement le rayonnement électromagnétique transmis à travers l'objet (6) depuis l'émetteur (2).
