ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This disclosure is directed to a method of determining the length of the major and minor axes in an elliptical borehole. The axes are determined from measurements made with a dual spaced neutron tool, preferably one with epithermal detectors along with measurements made with a one dimensional caliper. The method is restricted to the case of little or no standoff or mudcake, unless an independent standoff measurement is provided.
