- 1 - A B S T R A C T A measuring chair for measuring the contour of the back of an individual comprises a base, a seat portion and a back portion. The back portion comprises a back engaging member comprising a deformable sheet member which carries a plurality of spring steel transverse strips. Mounting means are provided for mounting the back engaging member to the back portion. The mounting means are movable vertically to deform the sheet member to take up the vertical contour of the individual.
