ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: This invention relates to a measuring device which determines the position of the strand guide in a continuous casting machine having at least a partially curved strand guide in which plumb lines can be attached at the measuring points on the strand guide to project the position of the measuring points in the x- and/or z-axis into a horizontal reference level. This measuring device is characterized by the fact that plumb lines, set to the specified distance apart in the y-axis between the specific measuring point and the reference level are attached to several coordinate measuring points along the strand guide.
