A pipe leakage detection system includes an alongate flexible probe with a body portion (11) of sufficient length to pass along a pipe (12). Pairs of seals (16, 17 and 18, 19) define a seal volume with the inner pipe wall. An adjacent test region can then be used to determine leakage. A source of fluid pressure is applied to lines 26 and 28. With equal pressure in both the seal and test regions as indicated by manometer (32) no leak will occur around the seals. A deliberate outgoing flow rate is allowed from line 29 and any differential in flow, as detected by flowmeters (38 and 39), will indicate actual leakage rate.

L'invention concerne un système de détection de fuite dans les tuyaux qui comprend un capteur flexible allongé possédant une partie du corps (11) suffisamment longueour traverser le tuyau (12). Des paires de joints (16, 17) et (18, 19) définissent un volume hermétiquement clos avec la paroi interne du tuyau. Une zone d'essai adjacente peut alors être utilisée pour déterminer la fuite. Une source de pression de liquide est appliquée aux conduits (26) et (28). Avec une pression égale dans les zones des joints et d'essai, indiquée par le manomètre (32), aucune fuite ne se produira autour des joints. Un débit sortant du conduit (29) est volontairement permis et tout différentiel de débit, détecté par les débitmètres (38 et 39), indiquera le taux de fuite réel.
