A B S T R A C T MEASURING SULPHIDE SCAVENGER CONTENT OF DRILLING FLUID The concentration of unspent zinc-based hydrogen sulphide scavenger in an aqueous drilling fluid is determined by selectively extracting the unspent scavenger in a solvent, such as glacial acetic acid, and measuring the concentration of dissolved zinc, for example, with an X-ray fluorescence spectrograph.
