2095029 9208995 PCTABS00013 A method of measuring the forming process of a fibre web by ultrasonic measuring. In the method, the thickness of the fibre web is determined by measuring variation in the thickness of the fibre web at one measuring point at a time and by counting the number of pulses obtained for each thickness value during a measuring period, whereafter a curve (T) describing the turbulence profile is formed of the measured values as an envelope of the number (n) of occurrence of each thickness value (h).
