A method and system for measuring the throughput of transmissions over a wireless local area network (Fig. 4) having a station (204) and an access point (202). The station can send messages to the access point during a test period, where the messages can be sent as data frames. The access point can receive messages sent from the station during the test period. For messages received by the access point, the access point can send acknowledgements (406) to the station, where the acknowledgements can be sent as control frames. The station can receive acknowledgements from the access point for messages received by the access point. The station can determine a throughput from the station to the access point for the test period based on the acknowledgements received at the station from the access point during the test period.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système servant à mesurer le débit des transmissions sur un réseau sans fil à zone locale (Fig. 4) et comprenant une station (204) et un point d'accès (202). La station peut envoyer des messages au point d'accès lors d'une période d'essai, dans laquelle les messages peuvent être envoyés en tant que trame de données. Ledit point d'accès peut recevoir des messages envoyés à partir de la station, lors de la période d'essai. Pour des messages reçus par le point d'accès, il peut envoyer un accusé de réception (406) à ladite station, les accusés de réception pouvant être envoyés en tant que trame de service. Ladite station peut recevoir des accusés de réception du point d'accès, pour des messages reçus par le point d'accès. La station peut déterminer un débit, de la station au point d'accès, pour la période d'essai, sur la base d'accusés de réception reçus à la station et provenant du point d'accès, lors de la période d'essai.
