ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Apparatus for adding emulsifier to a fluid comprises a conduit for carrying the flow of fluid, with a nozzle portion or restriction in the conduit, and a tube extending into the region of the restriction, to supply emulsifier into the restriction region. A valve is disposed in the conduit so as to be responsive to the flow of fluid, displacement of the valve member resulting in displacing the tube thereby to render the displacement of the tube dependent on the flow rate of the fluid through the conduit. The conicity and diameter of the nozzle are adapted to the flow rate of the fluid in the conduit.
