A mechanical handling device (6) for golf balls (5) at a driving range, comprising a pivotally mounted balance or lever arm (24) provided at one end with a tee (14) adapted, in use, to receive and support a golf ball (15) from a supply source, and provided at its other end with a weight sensitive transducer (26) whereby, from a neutral start position (Figure 3), the arm (24)/tee (14) is initially pivoted downwardly under the influence of the weight of a ball (15) arriving at the tee (14), such initial movement being sensed by the transducer (26) to activate control means causing the arm (24)/tee (14) to be pivoted to an elevated, striking position (Figure 4), and loss of ball weight at the tee (14), after striking of the ball, also being sensed by the transducer (26) to activate control means to cause the arm (24)/tee (14) to be pivotally returned to its neutral position. The invention also includes a driving range tee (1) provided with a device (6).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de manipulation mécanique (6) de balles de golf (5) placé sur un terrain d'exercice. Ce dispositif comprend un balancier ou un bras de levier monté pivotant (24) et comprenant, au niveau d'une extrémité, un tee (14) conçu, lorsqu'il est utilisé, pour recevoir et supporter une balle de golf (15) provenant d'une source d'alimentation et comprenant, au niveau de l'autre extrémité, un transducteur sensible au poids (26). Ce dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'à partir d'une position de départ neutre (Figure 3), le bras (24)/tee (14) est pivoté dans un premier temps vers le bas, sous l'influence du poids d'une balle (15) arrivant au niveau du tee (14), un tel mouvement initial étant détecté par un transducteur (26), de manière à activer des moyens de commande contraignant le bras (24)/tee (14) de tourner dans une position élevée de frappe (Figure 4) et une perte du poids de la balle au niveau du tee (14), après la frappe de la balle, étant également détectée par le transducteur (26), aux fins d'activation des moyens de commande, de manière à contraindre le bras (24)/tee (14) de retourner de manière pivotante dans sa position neutre. L'invention concerne également un tee pour terrain d'exercice (1) accompagné d'un dispositif (6).
