Disclosed is a mechanical non expanding light beam device. This tool used with chainsaws allows for accurate cutting of equal lengths of wood material. Fixed alignment of the securing clamp body parallel with the end of the chainsaw bar allows the light beam to be manually rotated through a fixed plane. Upon intersection of the beam with the end of the material, the cut is made achieving accurately uniform pieces of material. The device is secured to the chainsaw by an integrated mounting pad and is removable. The non expanding light beam is manually activated by thumb pressure.
