The invention relates to a mechanical system for automatic guiding of one or more torches of a welding unit in a groove delimited by the chamfered end surfaces of two metal parts to be welded together, of the type including a main carriage (1) moving along a stationary guide (2) relatively parallel to the groove (3), a secondary carriage (7) which is connected to the main carriage (1) by a hinged linking assembly (12) and which is provided with a torch supporting unit and a guiding device including bearing members in contact with the surfaces of the metal parts bordering said groove (3) and sensing members that enter the groove. The invention relates to the fact that the hinged linking assembly (12) includes three pivoting axes.
L'invention concerne un système mécanique de guidage automatique d'une ou de plusieurs torches d'une unité de soudage dans une gorge délimitée par les surfaces d'extrémité chanfreinées de deux pièces métalliques à souder l'une à l'autre, du type comprenant un chariot principal (1) qui se déplace le long d'un guide (2) fixe plus ou moins parallèle à la gorge (3), un chariot secondaire (7) qui est relié au chariot principal (1) par un ensemble de liaison articulé (12) et qui est équipé d'un bloc support de torche (s) et d'un dispositif de guidage comprenant des organes de roulement en contact avec les surfaces des pièces métalliques bordant ladite gorge (3) et des organes de palpage qui pénètrent à l'intérieur de la gorge. L'invention consiste en ce que l'ensemble de liaison articulé (12) comprend trois axes de pivotement.
